Profile	I was born and brought up in England of Irish/Scottish ancestry and went to University in Scotland. I did all my medical/Anaesthetic training in England - in London, Manchester and Birmingham. I have lived in Thessaloniki for 22 years. Before coming here I was a Consultant Anaesthetist in the NHS in the UK, in the West Midlands. I then worked for many years in Agios Loukas Clinic but kept up my post-graduate medical education by taking Locum Consultant posts in the UK whenever I could. I therefore have many contacts in the Medical Profession both here and in the UK. Recently, for family reasons, I have given up the work in Agios Loukas but continue to offer occassional pain relief therapy - mostly as home visits at the moment because my office/surgery in Agias Sofias Street is undergoing extensive modernisation. My husband works in the Greek Health Service and is the Consultant Chest Surgeon at Theagenion Hospital. I have 2 daughters who are both at University in the UK at the moment - the elder in Nottingham doing Medicine and the younger in Manchester doing Archaeology.
